Why choose us

Our Story
Physiotherapy @ Home began in 2009 with a single, simple act of compassion. Founded by Leon Hector and Dr. Marc Naidoo, the practice was born the day a cancer patient, unable to travel from the outpatient department to be seen, asked whether we could come to them instead. We said yes. We treated that patient in the comfort of their own home, and in doing so discovered something powerful: for many people, the best place to heal is exactly where they already are.
Word spread. One request became many, and what started as a small practice in Cape Town’s Southern Suburbs steadily grew. We extended our care to clients in the Northern Suburbs, and over the years that followed, our reach expanded across South Africa – to Johannesburg, Port Elizabeth, the Garden Route, and Durban.
How We’ve Grown
Today, Physiotherapy @ Home is a considerably larger practice with a far broader offering than when we started, but our founding philosophy has never changed. We deliver specialised physiotherapy care directly in our clients’ homes, and we’ve extended that same in-place model of care to facilities and old-age homes, reaching people wherever they need us most.
What Drives Us
From day one, our focus has been to deliver physiotherapy services in the most cost-effective manner possible, without compromising on quality of care. We believe treatment should meet people where they are – physically, practically, and financially. Every patient we see is a continuation of that first home visit in 2009: care delivered where it’s needed most, by people who genuinely want to help.
Our Management Team
Behind every home visit and every patient we serve stands a leadership team that has guided Physiotherapy @ Home from a single act of compassion in 2009 into a national practice. Our management combines deep clinical expertise with a genuine, hands-on understanding of what it takes to deliver quality care beyond the walls of a hospital or clinic.
They are practitioners first – clinicians who have sat at the bedside, treated patients in their homes, and understood first-hand the challenges our clients face. That experience shapes every decision they make, from the standard of care we uphold to the way we reach communities across South Africa. Under their guidance, the practice has grown considerably while holding firmly to the values it was founded on: compassionate, accessible, and cost-effective physiotherapy delivered where it’s needed most.

Our Physiotherapy Team
At the heart of Physiotherapy @ Home is a team of skilled, dedicated physiotherapists who bring our mission to life, one home visit at a time. Every therapist on our team is a qualified, registered professional, chosen not only for their clinical competence but for the compassion and commitment they bring to every patient they treat.
Our physiotherapists are experienced across a wide range of specialised areas, from post-operative rehabilitation and neurological care to respiratory, orthopaedic, and geriatric physiotherapy. This breadth of expertise means we can match the right therapist to each patient’s specific needs, whether in a private home, a care facility, or an old-age home.
What sets our team apart is their ability to deliver hospital-standard care in a home environment. Working outside the traditional clinic setting takes adaptability, sound judgement, and genuine care – qualities every member of our team embodies. They build lasting relationships with patients and families, treating each person with dignity, patience, and respect.
Continually developing their skills and staying current with best practice, our physiotherapists ensure that every client receives the highest standard of care, delivered exactly where it’s needed most.
Our Client Care Coordinators
One of the things that truly sets Physiotherapy @ Home apart is a role you won’t find at most practices: our Client Care Coordinators. Acting as dedicated case managers, they are the constant, reassuring presence that supports each client from their very first contact with us right through to the end of their care journey.
When you’re recovering at home, navigating treatment can feel overwhelming – appointments to arrange, progress to track, questions that arise between visits. Our Client Care Coordinators take that weight off your shoulders. They are your single, familiar point of contact: the person who knows your story, understands your needs, and makes sure every part of your care runs smoothly.
Behind the scenes, they coordinate seamlessly between patients, families, physiotherapists, and healthcare providers – scheduling visits, following up on progress, and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks. More than administrators, they are advocates for our clients, listening carefully and stepping in wherever support is needed.
Their support extends to the practical and financial side of your care as well. Working closely with our account management function, your Client Care Coordinator helps keep billing, medical aid claims, statements, and account queries clear, accurate, and stress-free. We understand that healthcare costs can be a source of anxiety, so transparency sits at the core of how we manage accounts, and in keeping with our founding commitment to deliver physiotherapy in the most cost-effective manner possible, we’re always ready to explain your account, assist with medical aid submissions, and answer any questions with patience and clarity.
It’s this personal, joined-up approach – care, coordination, and honest administration all in one place – that gives our clients genuine peace of mind. With a Client Care Coordinator by their side, no one walks their recovery journey alone, and that human connection is at the very heart of the care we deliver.
